AGM

ASSLH Annual General Meeting

4–6pm (EST), Friday, 8 December 2017

Faculty of Law Boardroom, level 5, Building 5B, UTS, Haymarket NSW 2000.

Detailed Directions: See http://maps.uts.edu.au/map.cfm?point=826. Go to the Faculty of Law entrance on Quay Street (near UTS Library). Take the lift just inside the entrance. When you step out at level 5, you will be right next to the Boardroom.

The AGM will be 2 hours long because there are important matters to address. Changes in funding arrangements pose a significant challenge for ASSLH as a society and as the publisher of Labour History. We discussed this at our Special General Meeting in September  and will resume discussion at the AGM with the aim of reaching decisions (see the Agenda).

The AGM will also include the presentation of reports from ASSLH President, Secretary, Treasurer, and the Editor of Labour History, along with the election of office bearers for 2018.

Please contact the Secretary, Julie Kimber (jkimber@swin.edu.au), with any additional agenda items.

Those unable to attend in person can participate via teleconference. If you’d like to do this, email Carl Power (admin@labourhistory.org.au) so that he can send you instructions before the meeting.

AGM participants must be financial members of Federal ASSLH or one of its branches. Federal membership can be purchased (for only $10) here . Those attending the AGM in person can purchase membership immediately prior to the meeting.

Following the AGM, 6–7pm, in the same venue, Julia Martínez will launch Labour History and the “Coolie Question.” This is a special issue of Labour History, no. 113 (November 2017) edited by Diane Kirkby and Sophie Loy-Wilson. Click here for more information.
