On Monday, 2nd June, Eileen Powell addressed a large group of members and friends of the Sydney Branch. Her recollections of working conditions amongst railway refreshment room workers in the 1930’s amazed the younger members of the audience; her efforts to ame1iorate these conditions generated much admiration. Eileen also talked about her work with the Council of Action for Equal Pay. It was a lively and stimulating address and was even reported in one labour weekly newspaper
