Recorder Special Issue

While our friends in Adelaide have been active, our old mates Lloyd Edmunds and John Arrowsmith have teamed up to produce a special multi-coloured issue of Recorder, Hummer’s Mexican equivalent. A different form of Bicentenary ‘celebration’ articles commemorate the historic achievement of the 48 hour week by Melbourne building trade workers in 1856. As they point out in their introduction: ‘It is a matter of concern that in the welter of words about the Bicentenary there is almost total neglect of this great page in our history’. Copies are available from Mark Doyle, P.O. Box 321, CARLTON SOUTH VICTORIA 3053.
